Distance Learning Academy

The Distance Learning Academy (DLA) serves students in grades kindergarten through eighth grade. The DLA offers comprehensive online learning with distinct elementary (K-5) and secondary (6-12) models. Starting in the fall of 2021, the school day will run from 8:30 a.m. - 3 p.m., with synchronous and asynchronous instruction.

Skills that will be built to help students thrive in the Distance Learning Academy include self-advocacy skills, persistence, learning habits and technology skills. The importance of making connections will be key, as students and teachers will also build strong relationships through this distance learning model.

We offer a great option for students and families who wish to remain in distance learning: 

• Deeper focus on reading and writing with more access to digital and hard copy texts
• More choice and individualized student learning
• All students will have synchronous and asynchronous learning throughout the entire school day
• Consistent schedule throughout the school year
• Consistent WBLAS teaching staff throughout the school year
• In-person academic and extracurricular opportunities are available
