Comprehensive Achievement and Civic Readiness

The “Striving for the World’s Best Workforce” bill was passed in 2013 to ensure every school district in the state is making strides to increase student performance. Each district must develop a plan that addresses the following five goals:

1. All children are ready to start kindergarten.

2. All achievement gaps between students are closed.

3. All students are ready for career and/or postsecondary education.

4. All students graduate from high school.

5.  Prepare students to be lifelong learners.

Comprehensive Achievement and Civic Readiness

A World's Best Work Force/Comprehensive Achievement and Civic Readiness plan is a multi-year roadmap outlining how a district will achieve its educational goals. Aligned with the 2023 legislative changes, the focus now shifts to Comprehensive Achievement and Civic Readiness (CACR), emphasizing both academic achievement and the development of active, engaged citizens. CACR plans must address five key areas: school readiness, closing achievement gaps, college and career readiness, high school graduation, and fostering lifelong learning.

The plan and pertinent documents are linked.
