White Bear Lake, Minn. - The White Bear Lake Area School District is pleased to announce the selection of three members of the leadership team who will begin their employment July 1, 2017. The School Board officially approved the contracts at the March 6, 2017 School Board meeting.
Dr. Wayne Kazmierczak will assume the superintendent position, which became available when current superintendent Dr. Michael Lovett announced his June 30, 2017 retirement. Kazmierczak, who currently serves as the district's assistant superintendent for finance and operations, has worked in the district for three years.
Prior to his time in White Bear, Kazmierczak served as assistant superintendent at Moorhead Area Public Schools and superintendent of Lakeview Public Schools near Marshall, Minn.
"On behalf of the entire Board, we are delighted that Dr. Wayne Kazmierczak has accepted our offer to become the next Superintendent of White Bear Lake Area Schools," said Board Chair Janet Newberg. "We are excited to begin working with Dr. Kazmierczak as we begin to enter the 2017-18 school year!"
Otter Lake Elementary Principal
Cynthia Mueller, who currently serves as an instructional coach in the Buffalo-Hanover-Montrose School District and an adjunct instructor at Saint Mary's University of Minnesota, will assume principalship of Otter Lake Elementary. Mueller's experience includes serving as a STEM coordinator and as an elementary classroom teacher in Minnesota and Idaho.
"Ms. Mueller's leadership qualities align with the profiles established from parent and staff input," said Sara Paul, Assistant Superintendent of Teaching and Learning. "We are excited to have her joining our team in the White Bear Lake Area Schools."
White Bear Lake Area High School Activities Director
Brian Peloquin, who currently serves as dean of students at Mounds View High School, will fill the White Bear Lake Area High School Activities Director position that will open this summer when current activities director Tim Hermann retires. Mr. Peloquin's experience includes service as a teacher, administrator, and head coach.
"Brian Peloquin brings a wealth of coaching and administrative experiences to the position," said White Bear Lake Area High School - South Campus principal Tim Wald. "He will be able to carry on the high expectations Tim Hermann established for student participation, excellence among our coaching staff, and family support."
