ISD 624 recognized for accounting and financial reporting

For Immediate Release: October 11, 2016
WBLAS Contact: Marisa Vette, 651-407-7695, marisa.vette@isd624.org

The White Bear Lake Area School Board recently accepted Excellence in Financial Reporting awards from both the Association of School Business Officials (ASBO) and the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA).

The awards are the highest form of recognition given in the area of governmental accounting and financial reporting. ISD 624 is the only school district in Minnesota to receive both of these awards for sixteen consecutive years.

"It truly takes a team effort to earn these awards," said Wayne Kazmierczak, Assistant Superintendent for Finance and Operation. "Long-time District Controller Mary Vaske and Accountant Lee Lor deserve special recognition for their commitment to strong accounting practices."

The White Bear Lake Area School District received a bond rating of AA from Standard and Poor's in the 2008, 2011, 2012, 2014 and again in 2015.
