Jim Galvin, long-time coach, teacher, and community member, has been honored by White Bear Lake Area Schools for his decades of service to the school community. The White Bear Lake Area School Board voted at its March 4, 2024 meeting to name the fully renovated White Bear Lake Area High School gymnasium “Galvin Court.”

Due to forecasted weather conditions throughout the day, White Bear Lake Area Schools middle and high school buildings will dismiss early today, Tuesday, March 26. 

Secondary schools will dismiss at the following times:

  • WBLAHS - North Campus: 12 p.m.
  • Area Learning Center (ALC): 12:20 p.m.
  • WBLAHS - South Campus: 12:30 p.m.
  • Central Middle School: 1 p.m.
  • Sunrise Park Middle School: 1 p.m.

Transportation routes will run on an earlier schedule.

Conferences scheduled for grades 6-12+ families will be rescheduled to a later date.

Elementary schools, Full Day Preschool and Transition Education Center programs will dismiss at regular times and transportation routes will run as close to the regular schedule as possible. The Extended Day Program will close at 4:30 p.m.

Afternoon preschool and Special Education programs with a start time after 12 p.m. are canceled.

All after school activities including targeted services, clubs, and FLEX are canceled.

Schools Closed - March 25, 2024

Due to winter weather conditions, White Bear Lake Area Schools will be closed today, Monday, March 25. All district buildings and programs will be closed. This includes all regular before-school, after-school, Extended Day and Community Education activities. Senior Center activities and Meals on Wheels are canceled as well.

If winter weather is so severe that schools need to close, families will be alerted via phone, email and text to those who have opted in to receiving texts from the district. (Instructions for opt-in here.) The message will be posted on the district's website and social media accounts, and the information will also be available on local media outlets.

Two WBLAHS Speech Team members qualified to compete in the National NSDA Tournament in Des Moines, Iowa June 16-21.

CNA Hands-on Lesson

High school students in the CNA class tested their skills this week. Their hands-on lesson was highlighted in a recent video issue of the district's The Week in 62.4 Seconds.

There has been a change to the last week of school schedule for students at the middle school and high school levels. The schedule has been modified due to construction schedules and building moves.

Career Pathways Panel Discussion

Professionals from several Career Pathways industries spoke to high school students during a panel discussion this week. The event was highlighted in a recent video issue of the district's The Week in 62.4 Seconds.

In lieu with February being CTE Month (Career and Technical Education), 25 Automotive Career Pathway students explored the collision repair side of the transportation industry during a field trip.

unique project

Middle and high school students in the Nation to Nation Affinity Group are tapping maple trees to make syrup as an American Indian Education Program activity. See this project come to life in a recent video issue of the district's The Week in 62.4 Seconds.

fun interactions

The WBLAHS Girls' Basketball team is making moves on and off the court. They recently visited Willow Lane Elementary to talk with our younger Bears about the importance of teamwork, bravery, empathy and determination.
