Vadnais Heights Elementary WIN/Title 1 Program
White Bear Lake Area Schools offer Title 1 programs to meet the needs of students at individual schools.
Title 1 believes that educators should have high expectations for all children and that it is our responsibility to help students achieve the academic goals of performing at or above grade level in all subject areas. Children come to school at different stages of development and do not all learn at the same rate or with the same methods of teaching. Because of their differences, children often learn best when they are in small groups and have access to materials and activities which are adjusted to their pace and style of learning.
Students receiving Title 1 services have been selected to receive personalized direct instruction in reading and/or math with the What Individuals Need (WIN) team at Vadnais Heights Elementary.
Your child will work with a certified WIN teacher in collaboration with their classroom teacher to provide supplementary instruction based on the needs of your child(ren). Your child will receive daily, small-group instruction from a WIN teacher during the scheduled WIN time for all students. This will provide your child specific instruction and practice on areas where your child is currently performing below grade level. Throughout instruction, your child's progress will be monitored on a regular basis. Your child's progress toward his or her goals will determine the duration of their instruction with the WIN team.
If at any point you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact a member of the WIN Title 1 team at Vadnais Heights Elementary.
