White Bear Lake Area Schools Bear FUNdamentals is a year-before-kindergarten full-day program focused on providing fun, nurturing and safe opportunities for play and learning that prepare children for kindergarten. Bear FUNdamentals focuses on children's emotional, social, physical and intellectual growth. Children work on listening skills, language and literacy, thinking and math skills and social development through meaningful, interactive play. The program is staffed at a 1:10 ratio and taught by passionate instructors who encourage curiosity, discovery and problem solving in a stimulating, structured, and fun environment. Our staff work closely with families to provide individualized care for each child.
Bear FUNdamentals programming is offered at Birch, Lakeaires, Hugo, and Otter Lake Elementary Schools throughout the school year. Families can register for a three, four, or five consistent day contract. Contract options are Half Day - Birch only (11:30 am - 3:45pm), School Day (9 am - 3:45 pm) or Full Day (6:30 am - 6:00 pm). Families that need only a few sessions of before or after school care can register for School Day Bear FUNdamentals and register for Extended Day before (6:30 am - 9 am) or after (3:45 pm - 6:00 pm) school care as well.
Enrollment is on a first come, first served basis. All registrations and fees must be submitted a minimum of three working days prior to the day families wish to start using the program.
