Jim Galvin, long-time coach, teacher, and community member, has been honored by White Bear Lake Area Schools for his decades of service to the school community. The White Bear Lake Area School Board voted at its March 4, 2024 meeting to name the fully renovated White Bear Lake Area High School gymnasium “Galvin Court.”

We are excited to announce the 2024 Marketfest Artwork Contest hosted by the Marketfest Committee! This is an excellent opportunity for K-12 students within the White Bear Lake Area School District #624 or residing within its boundaries to showcase their artistic talent.

    - May 7, 2024 from 7:30-8:30 a.m.

Due to forecasted weather conditions throughout the day, White Bear Lake Area Schools middle and high school buildings will dismiss early today, Tuesday, March 26. 

Secondary schools will dismiss at the following times:

  • WBLAHS - North Campus: 12 p.m.
  • Area Learning Center (ALC): 12:20 p.m.
  • WBLAHS - South Campus: 12:30 p.m.
  • Central Middle School: 1 p.m.
  • Sunrise Park Middle School: 1 p.m.

Transportation routes will run on an earlier schedule.

Conferences scheduled for grades 6-12+ families will be rescheduled to a later date.

Elementary schools, Full Day Preschool and Transition Education Center programs will dismiss at regular times and transportation routes will run as close to the regular schedule as possible. The Extended Day Program will close at 4:30 p.m.

Afternoon preschool and Special Education programs with a start time after 12 p.m. are canceled.

All after school activities including targeted services, clubs, and FLEX are canceled.

Schools Closed - March 25, 2024

Due to winter weather conditions, White Bear Lake Area Schools will be closed today, Monday, March 25. All district buildings and programs will be closed. This includes all regular before-school, after-school, Extended Day and Community Education activities. Senior Center activities and Meals on Wheels are canceled as well.

If winter weather is so severe that schools need to close, families will be alerted via phone, email and text to those who have opted in to receiving texts from the district. (Instructions for opt-in here.) The message will be posted on the district's website and social media accounts, and the information will also be available on local media outlets.

Central Middle Schoolers celebrated Pi Day this week! In their math classes, students played games to determine if numbers are rational or irrational.

There has been a change to the last week of school schedule for students at the middle school and high school levels. The schedule has been modified due to construction schedules and building moves.

Central Middle School's Knowledge Bowl teams participated in the annual State Meet on Saturday, March 2nd. Out of 32 competing teams, the three teams secured 4th, 13th, and 21st positions. Together, Central's teams achieved some of the highest scores statewide. Congratulations on an outstanding season. Go Bears!

Orchestra Lesson

During small group work time in orchestra class this week, violinists at Central Middle School learned how to play the notes in their E string scale. This lesson was highlighted in a recent video issue of the district's The Week in 62.4 Seconds

The White Bear Lake Area Educational Foundation hosted a fundraising breakfast in the White Bear Lake Area High School Union area. After enjoying a breakfast together and hearing district staff members describe ways the Foundation’s support has impacted various district programs and classrooms, attendees enjoyed tours of the completed portions of the building.
